I recently dug this item in a small town in central Kansas. It is cast iron, 2 inches by 2 inches by 1/2" thick with a 1/2" tab as seen. It has the image of a person in what appears to be a dress or robe laid out as though they are praying or grieving. There is nothing on the back. I wonder if anyone out there has seen anything like it and can help me in identifying it. A friend suggested it may have at one time had a cross attached to the base that was lost or rusted away in the hole. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An act of supplication. Probably more than one branch of Christianity performs it.

Domine, non sub dignus, ut intres sub tectum meum, set tontom dic verbo et sunobitor anima mea!

not sure of the spelling in latin, but the prayer of supplication.

It was found in my brothers yard. The house he lives in is over 100 years old. It just doesn't look like it is missing anything or would attach to a tombstone or fencing. I am still stumped but will hope someone out there has seen it before.
