Oh my, this is a beautiful find! Congrats.

Couldn't find an exact match but if you have any families of German origin around there this may have been part of an Ausleger- or Aushängerschild as the ironcast or forged ornate signs are called for various shops and pubs or a brewery maybe in this case.
To get an idea of what I mean

I have to retract my "german-origin" theory since I cannot find one single mash paddle online looking like the one on your find associated with german beer brewing....

I believe you are correct with the German idea. I found it west of Sandusky Ohio. Many of the oldest houses in the area are made of the bedrock limestone and were built by German masons.
Sandusky was also the location of many breweries. The ornate signs are a good line of research for me, but I do not know of any foundries in the area capable of such fine casting.
Thanks for your interest.
