That is a really neat find! While it could be from a wide array of applications, if I had to venture an immediate guess, based on its size, my guess would be that it was from the top of an ornamental wall hook such as pictured below, or a finial to a stove topper such as those shown. Of course, it may not be from either..who knows? (PS: a door knocker is also a good possibility)

Nice research and reconstruction on the coat hooks Creskol! I agree it might be these, as finials would more likely be three dimentional, and although clocks had such devices, they were most likely brass or bronze. Just as an aside, the level of sophistication you, Jim, BigCy and a few others are using to reconstruct objects through digital imagery is amazing!
