If you just want silver coins for weight and regardless of condition,go to a local coin show.I picked up 10 morgans last week for 11 dollars each.3 of them were 1921-AU.The others were all AG but they came out of the same pile.Of course if you want investment quality professionally graded coins, then I would search the auction houses in your area for good deals.Sometimes even pawn shops don't really know what they have either, check there too.Dealers want too much.Mighty AP said:I like the idea some here have of using my clad to buy silver coins as an investment. I am gonna start hoarding silver! lol Any ideas as to the best places to purchase silver coins?
8th race ,4 horse ,Silver Fortune,7-2,sounds like a winner to me! Of course you could go for a longshot and say the 1 horse in the 9th race, Silver Town at 15-1.I don't see any gold in there! Good luck Monty!Monty said:I'm going to Remington Park tomorrow and waste my clad money on the ponies. Sometimes I lose but I usually pay for my trip. Wish me luck. Some say it's skill, but in my case it's pure luck! Monty
Monty said:I didn't see any one eyed horses but I saw several that I suspect only had 3 legs. Unfortunately I bet on all of them! It's been three days and I think they're still waiting on one of them to come in! I only picked one winner all day! 3 to 1 odds on a ten dollar bet get doesn't pay much. That nag started out 12 to 1 but by post time he was at 3 to 1. Apparently everyone knew something except me! I had a lot of fun though. Went with my wife, son and daughter-in-law. My wife picks 5 horses out of a six horse race, bets ten bucks and gets back $3.40 and claims she won! At the end of the day she bet a hundred bucks, won back $25.00 and comes home a winner! I still haven't figured it out? I'm not saying how much I dropped though! Monty
