Just ordered my first detector and will be using mostly when I travel to our beach condo. What do you guys use for a carry case? Buy a specific case made for detectors? Will a gun case work? I've got a aluminum shotgun case I was thinking about using, I'll try it once my detector arrives. I know it would require the unit to be taken apart. Just want it safe traveling in the trunk with the other luggage. I've got 5-6 different style rifle cases I could try, just curious what most folks use?

If your aluminum gun case won't work then look at bow cases. I bought one for my 3030 from Walmart for 110. Lined it with old mattress toppers.

Pay attention to interior dimensions including height.

humble opinion...if it looks like a gun some will get nervous and others may try to steal it.I got the padded ones from kellyco, most folks dont care bout a tector.

I have a padded fisher bag.It looks alot like a rifle case.In the eyes of someone that doesnt shoot or detect most likely assume its a gun.

Teknetics and fisher both have a tall backpack that can carry a broke down detector.

I f you are just traveling in the truck just about anything will work, including nothing. The bow case I referred to has been through checked baggage 7 times so far without any damage to the CTX 3030. There was a puncture hole in the end that i repaired. I would not attempt any soft sided case through checked baggage. But again traveling in your car is not an issue.
