carved lead?

The weight and appearance of this seems to be lead.
Seems to be bullet sized.
The bottom concave area could be where the gunpowder/wadding would be.
Could this be a carved bullet? I have no experience, and can't find one shaped like this anywhere.
The carvings appear to be rough as by human hands.
Any thoughts are welcomed.

Just a modern riffled slug, looks like a 20 Gauge

Its a shotgun slug for sure,zutphen

Yup, rifled slug. Shotguns are smooth bore, so they put the rifling's on the bullet to get it to spin for more accuracy. It's hollow base is so it will expand and fit the bore tighter when it's fired.
