Carved ivory tower?

Well, I recently acquired this cool piece, and it's supposedly carved ivory. However, I'm no expert on ivory, so could anyone authenticate it as ivory?
It's made in Hong Kong, so probably 1960's-1970's. It's also very heavy for its' size.

We have a similar tower......it has to be quite old to be considered legal to have otherwise it's against the law if more modern....

The one we have was carved by the grandfather of the seller and we bought it about 30 years ago.

If you have a Chinatown in your area perhaps someone could give you an idea as to being authentic or not.
