Hello all,

Found this yesterday hunting near a CW site. Didn't think much about it when I dug it because it was covered in black and didn't look like anything good. Today I scraped some of the black off and I noticed what may be 3 rings near one end. That end also looks like it had an opening like a 3 ringer.

It's probably just wishful thinking on my part that it might be a bullet. I can't imagine what they would be trying to make cutting it down that thin.

The 3 ringer in the picture is my one and only CW bullet, found at the same site the last time we were there.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Looks like a bullet fashioned into a lead pencil.

D.

Fired and impacted bullet?

Looks like a 'slice' was cut off of it and folded over?

Nice finds! IMHO it was used as a pencil. :occasion14:

It may be partially melted. Ether way it's still CW. Congratulations!

Thanks for the responses! I guess "carved" wasn't the best description. Sliced is definitely more appropriate.

Thanks again.

Nice find buddy! I didn't know you found any lead out there.

Thanks man! I had told Cladder I found a couple pieces but didn't think they were bullets because they had no white patina and didn't look anything like a bullet. I just happen to notice the "rings" on that little piece.

Here are the other 2 pieces. The flash makes them look brighter than they are. They are a brownish color with no hint of white. I did weigh the bigger piece to see if it was close to the weight of my 3 ringer but it was lighter. 27.39 grams versus 34.84 for the 3 ringer.

I say these are lead but I haven't done any scientific test to confirm that. :laughing7: They just sound "leady" when I drop them on the counter top.
