Found this carved small piece of antler in Rowena South Dakota no idea what it was used for. The toe looks like something may have been attached to something.

Cool find! but man that's a head scratchier... well maybe not a head scratchier??? I use a back scratchier for that. Really I have no clue. Anything drilled? Not the leverage I would expect from a knapping tool but def carved.
Nice find!

Not drilled, atlatl spur is interesting. There is a chunk busted out on the heel on one side.

Dang! what an amazing artifact! well can I have it ,,,,,,when you die....errr ok O I will settle on the pics, that is cool no doubt, cool and one of a kind. Man thanks for sharing!

Chase thanks for the excitement I have added you to my will.

That looks like an antler tool used in flaking points. Nice Find!

As small as it is I would doubt it was going to be a Pipe. I would say that southfork is on the right track with Atl Atl Spur.

Very cool, nice find!

Southfork looking further on your suggestion it looks like part of the atlatl Thank You!

JMO I have never seen bone that was cut by stone have that type of markings on it and what I mean by that is the flat layers taken off at a time, most stone blades take off very small pieces and it ends up looking like it was scraped, which is the way it was done. This to me looks like it was cut like a knife does soap almost ??????

Makes a lot of sense Monster, that would make it probably 300 years or newer, or maybe not Native.

Kind of what I was thinking too. I thought it looked more like something done with a pocket knife. Whittled.

Yes in town quito, it was buried but there is a lot of stuff there from the late 1800s when the quarries were working too.

I was looking at it on my phone earlier and now I see what you guys mean. It does look like it was carved by a Knife or maybe made on a grinder.
