Relic Hunting
Got out with my dad on Saturday to a place I've been wanting to hit for a long time. It has been detected since at least the 60's but there are always relics hiding somewhere.

The GPX gave an interesting tone so I dug the plug down about 6 inches and then scooped the loose dirt out by hand. I saw an odd-shaped, green relic laying beside the hole. It's a little blurry after that but you can see the outcome.

Note - The keeper was dug recently in another camp but matches up perfectly.

Nice. I have seen a couple of them on here recently but your looks great and match up perfectly. :headbang:

Outstanding recovery!

Were those Civil War issue, or just a civillian style back in the day?

Awesome buckle!!!! Seems like a lot are popping up on the forums lately. :headbang:

Cupid the match-maker, has been on overtime lately putting separate pieces together..your buckle, the Hubley cap gun...what's next?

Could it be the place I'm thinking? Great dig Rocky!!!! :icon_thumright:

Nice snake Rocky! Cool that you could get the keeper even if it wasn't off the same belt, it looks like it was. See you in a couple weeks at DIV XXI.

No, this was a Frederick County site. I haven't been back to that spot in 3 weeks. Hopefully this weekend though if my new coil comes in.

Thanks! Dad found a piece of eight that day too in another field with some colonial stuff.

See you at DIV!!

Great dig! And even greater that you had the keeper with a matching patina. Fantastic!

I have only dug the keeper to one of those. Looked for many return trips for the snake...in vain.

Congratulations,

Buckles
