Car Badge of some sort?? Anyone know?

A guy in my club found this detecting. We suspect
it was an auto badge of some sort. Anyone have
an idea of what it is and what the symbols mean?

Yes I believe it went to the famous ghoast car.

Looks like a belt buckle from the "Nautica" clothing line.

The stickers look like international maritime signal flags. I'm thinking it may be a boaters club badge?

The flags spell "GRP", by the way.

If flown individually they would mean:

G - I require a pilot
R - Vessel is not moving (is not under way). You may pass.
P - Preparing to make way (return to vessel).

Not sure how Shell came up with their rendition - but then I'm civilian and not Navy. ;-)
