Bucket-lister!!! Started slow this morning as I went over areas I've already been...just to double check. Got a small flat button. Then the adjacent field started producing! First another beat copper, then the early shoe buckle, then ten feet away from the buckle I thought I had the missing tongue but out popped an 1834 CAPPED BUST HALF DIME! 20 yds from last week's seated half! I cleaned that one up a little and added better pics. Thanks!!

Needle in a haystack! I remember digging mine and thinking trime but was just as happy. Congratulations

Don't clean that half dime! It is beautiful!

Smack City! Wow, totally awesome finds, bucket listers big time!

Great looking coin. I would resist the urge to clean it with anything more than soapy water. The tones and detail are very nice.

Great condition, but not surprising considering the condition the Seated was in. Congrats!

What general area are you hunting in? No need to be specific, obviously, but just want a general region of the country you are hunting for context.

Had been hunting at a site in Pa that had a similar mix of older silver. I got a couple of seateds but missed some capped bust coins that were found within 20 yards or so of where I found the seateds.

Thanks, everyone!

The Connecticut section of the great state of New England :) Thanks, vferrari!
