WF cut me off w/ CoinLok bags. Only banks in my area with counters are TD and Cap1. Considering opening with Cap1 and wanted to know folks' experiences with their counters. Cap1 says they don't sell their bags, but can you ask them to open machines to access the internal chute (if jammed say by a bucket of Ikes ;).

I'm sorry WF cut you off:( can you elaborate on what happened?

I wish the banks around me had coin counters! lol

I've never used Cap One, but tellers at another bank told me that Cap One's machines are terrible because they are not serviced or calibrated on a regular basis. I assume this means inaccurate counts as a result, but I'll let others chime in who have actual used their machines.

After dumping a $1000 bag of halves a week for 2 months (with instant account crediting), they just said there's a new policy, they can't accept bags, and they have to be rolled. I had brought them donuts each Saturday I came with bags, and they always smiled and called me by name. I called 4 other branches, and they said the same thing. Omega - did you have to work your trust with your branches before they let you use bags? And I'm assuming you get instant credit. I'm going to keep calling branches, but they're farther away and not as convenient.

Oh, and I'm still working on my friend who has that other $25 of pure wheat cents from his grandfather.

I have 2 gold business account enrolled in the large coin deposit system

Using coin counters is a branch by branch issue.

If the branch cleans the counter regularly things go well (dimes are counted as dimes not pennies).

In my area there are branches of the same bank I avoid because they don't maintain their coin counter.

One of my WF dump banks handed me coin lok bags and manager asked that I not bring rolled anymore. They said credit would hit in about a week. Next time I brought in $2k in halves ($1k in each bag) and he said, "Eh, I'll just credit it now." I'm bringing him Indian food treats because he's Indian and there's an Indian food store around the corner from me. Gotta lock this in. ;)

First they tell you not to bring in rolled, then they tell you not to bring in bags...

Exactly!!! He was the one to suggest CoinLock bags in the first place. And I rewarded him with weekly treats and completed deposit slips. Maybe it's a regional corporate thing.

I don't need no bank with vikings as tella's not minding their own business asking me WHATS IN YOUR WALLET? its kind o like chicka-fila, how the employee's need to say "my pleasure". All the teller's working for CAPITAL1 asking (witha circa 1420s norwegian accent), "What's in your wallet!(?) its scarey, I'll take 9 shots but I tell ya one thing I ain't going to a bank run by a bunch of barbarians and Alec Baldwin.
