Cap to something??

Hi, I found this buried in some woods I hunt, I think it might be a cap to something but no idea what. It looks like it has a tiny bit of some sort of glue or epoxy, maybe wax stuck on the inside near the bottom. Any ideas?

I know this isn't it but it looks just like a top to an old metal detector that would pop open too put the batteries in.
