Hello
What you have there is a badge of the 12th Canadian Infantry Battalion (Canadian Expeditionary Force) from World War 1. That battalion was raised in the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward island with mobilization HQ at Valcartier, Quebec on August 6th, 1914. They sailed for England on October 3, 1914 with 45 officers and 1028 other ranks. In England, they were re designated the 12th Reserve Battalion as part of the Canadian Training Depot. They disbanded September, 15, 1920. Depending upon the size, it is either a cap badge or a collar badge. Hard to tell from the pic. Nice piece, and timely, with Remembrance Day just around the corner.

Wow sounds like a great ID and welcome to TN. A pic would be cool. :icon_thumright:

Thanks guys! Glad to help, and thanks for the welcome. I can't take credit for the info though - It's from the "Charlton Guide to First World War Canadian Infantry Badges" by Cross. Great book.
Have a good one.

Forgot to mention...the values shown in the pic are in Canadian $ as of 1991 and for examples in excellent or mint condition.
