Canteen With writing scratched on the spout- Wish I could read it...

I just dug my second canteen and this one had the spout on it. I had always heard that soldiers would scratch things on them to identify them. This is the first one that I've ever seen. The canteen was under a huge root, and it was a bear to get out! The spout fell off taking it out of the ground, but it's all there. The letters that I can read are- KUP_L _XV The letter beside the XV may be an A, but I'm not sure. I'm going to take a closer look this weekend. Here are some of the bullets and stuff I've found this week. No CSA's- But they're still out there!
