found this pretty cool pin today.cant find any info on it.the front has what appears to be a soldier holding a rifle with a shield above his head.there is writing all the way around the front.one of the words is service.the others are pretty hard to make out.the back has the#1190 on top.the word allied is clearly visible on the bottom.it also has to clasps of some kind which leads me to believe it is a pin and not a button.any info is greatly appreciated.thanx4 looking.also found this 1846 large cent not far from the pin.gotta hit that spot again.

Shine a flashlight at the edge of the medallion. Move it around a little bit and it will highlight it. You may be able to read it.
A small bright pinpoint light works best.

Great ID Cheyenne. Winchester items are very collectible especially since they went under.

Seriously ... From now on I'm just going straight to Cheyenne and skip over the rest of us "guessers." <<< I don't think this is a bad word ... and please note that I said "us" ... including myself!

Great ID ... Cheyenne's the man! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Thanks for the props 8) , but everyone on here has something to contribute. I'm still a WII rookie that gets lucky every once in a while. This forum is a "team effort" and I have learned much from it.

Hint: Most of the time it's all about getting the right combination of words in an internet search engine.

I couldn't find anything either. I found the same picture as posted here with no info. I have this pin in excellent condition. It has a number 711 stamped on the back. the clasp for the pin is the only thing missing. I'm so excited to find this web site. I inherited all my fathers treasures. It's been 25 yrs. since I received all the treasures. Were do you think I could sell something like this?
