Found this on the coast near a site where we have dug various smaller cal cw bullets. Looks like 2 grooves, solid base. Measured at 12.5=.4921. Im thinking maybe .50 cal warner or maybe colt revolving. The site was a known confederate site down here in Charleston. Any help would be great. Thanks everyone.

Stef, sorry to have to disappoint, but I'm not sure it is a civil war era bullet. It looks like some of the .44 revolver and breechloaing carbine ammo, but the size you report (.492"-diameter) excludes it from being any of those. I suggest you make some additional photos and post them (along with the precise measurements) in the Bullets section of the Civil War Projectiles Forum at www.bulletandshell.com. I'm a frequent poster there, and let me humbly say, some of my friends there know more about civil war AND postwar bullet ID than I do.
