I found this several years ago in an area where both colonial and civil relics can be found. I am not sure of the weight but it measures exactly 3" in diameter. I have been told that confederate cannonballs were not tumbled, therefor, leaving the seam mark and mold mark, or is this older than civil war?

Many times what is mistaken for cannon balls turns out to be from a ball mill where ore or even corn has been processed (crushed). Personally I can't tell the difference, they're from the same period and if hit in the the head by one it wouldn't matter. Put it on the shelf and call it a cannon ball.
