These were some of the pieces found in an area that was established as an indian trading center then got attacked when civil war troops stayed there for the night. "They got shelled" according to the description.
Not sure if this would be shrapnel or just droppings from hot poured iron. The area is littered with this stuff. The metal detector went crazy every foot or so. I gave up cause there is an old train stop near by and i thought it was old track. Also found a railroad pin.
