My Grandfather gave me this while visiting the family in Ohio this past summer. He said he thought it was a meteorite, found it with several others and several other smaller balls. He was hunting on a hillside close to a river in Tuscarawas county Ohio, about 5 miles North of Schoenbrunn. A dozer had been working in the area and exposed the balls. He only grabbed one because he had four rabbits and the weight was a bit much for a man in his 70s, he?s 91 now. He went back a few weeks later to find the other balls but the dozer had done its job and cleaned off the area and hauled away the dirt. The ball appears to be cement, more like solid limestone and does not flake of chip prying with a finger nail. Is not perfectly round and measures approx. 8.1CM/3?3/8 by 8.5 CM/3? 5/16 and fairly heavy. I think it is a cannonball being found close to a river near a very high point. The ball also has what looks like a seam through the middle. It is not magnetic and the detector does not detect it. Any help on a definite ID would be appreciated. HH, Mike
