I got this cannon at a garage sale yesterday for $1.00 :hello2:. It is highly detailed, don't know if it's from a kit. The bore is 1/2 inch, barrel length is 7 inches, whole thing is 13 inches long, 5 inches high, wheels 4 1/2 inches diameter, weighs 2 pounds, barrel is removable, has a functional touch hole and a pinhole in the very back end of barrel. Does it have any value, what kind is it? Did I make a good deal?...........NGE

Hello! I don't know the value, but it is a beautiful find :icon_thumleft: It looks very highly detailed and realistic :sign13: Thanks for showing :icon_sunny: Paul :coffee2:

I don't know the value or make either, but it's pretty darn cool. For a buck ya can't go wrong.

I had seen those advertised in The Civil War Times, years ago. I remember liking it, but thought it was a bit pricey. So as far a good deal, I would think so. If you get tired of it I'll give you $5.00 and pay shipping.

Clean out that barrel and fire that bad boy up :laughing9:

I own a really nice 16" Delta floor drill press. I was thinking about running a 1/2 inch bit down the bore, but I was wondering about the pin hole in the very back end. What purpose does this serve?

I guess that hole in the back is so people like me can't shoot anything out of the cannon :laughing9: That little hole would relieve some of the press as the charge will ignite in both directions. If they didn't do that, I think you would have a real miniature cannon on your hands :dontknow:

Ha ha, We won't let that little hole stop us. The :headbang:barrel is either brass or bronze and I have brass machine screws and brazing torch. If I tried making firing model of it, I would not stand behind it :help:

I'd say you got a good deal. Nice little black powder cannon. My brother in law has one, he paid a couple hundred bucks for it new.
