This piece was found on a site that dates back to the late 1700's > Situated across Tn river from Fort Southwest Point in Kingston ,TN. I discovered it in a pile of bricks that appeared to have been previously dug from an old outhouse ? Just a guess. Lots of old bricks in the area, possibly of a different time frame. No know plumbing anywhere close (within 1/2 mile).

It's solid bronze, the ID is approx. 3 3/4" and the OD is 5" appears to be old, but you know how that goes. No visable markings. any help would be appreciated. Could possibly be some kind of river boat hardware as this was a main junction for riverboat traffic in the early 1800's.
