Cannon Ball

I have this cannon ball that I was told is a civil war confederate cannon ball, and is still live! I bought it at a flea market, and am going to sell it. I bought it to help with my hand strength, and dropped a few times before I found out what it was. It HAS 4k and 100mm stamped in it. A guy offered me $100 for it awhile back, and was gonna keep it, but I have a little one now, and don't feel it's safe. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

4K, 100mm is the designation for a size of regulation shot put, typically for junior high boys and women.

That's what I thought when I found mine in the middle of a camp. It was the second day out at this camp which produced a ton of Civil War relics and found one just like yours under some leaves. It was heavy and looked old. But after thinking I had a great relic for 2 days and then taking it to our local museum I found out the truth. Man that sucked.....
