cannon ball I think

I found a 5" diameter ball it has a 1/2' wide ridge around the middle. There are no markings on it and it weighs about 20 pounds any idea what it is or how old it might be

Judging by the lack of heavy rust, I would say it looks like a ball bearing from a huge piece of mining equipment. Just my guess

If you found it in Utah it is probably a milling ball used to crush rock/ore.

It is not a cannon ball. The "band" around the middle would not be there if it were a cannon ball.

I really did not think it was because there were not many cannons in the So. Utah area, but you can always hope. Guess I will use it for a paper weight.
