Hit a local estate sale today that was not advertised. Went inside and my buddy informed me that some guy was looking at a box of watches. I walked over and looked at them also and got a broken Seiko. However looking at it I think it's fake because it says made in Hong Kong? It does work but the secondhand broke off.

I turned around and hanging on the wall were three canes. Marked at a dollar apiece. And I thought man that one looks like sterling, I have never seen such a thing before! 925 hallmarked something inscribed on it to looks like it's is 1920.

As I'm getting ready to pay they have a small jar with some old watches in it and I ask if I could see those too. The lady said sure that they were all broken and not worth anything. She was right they weren't worth anything but inside the jar with some scrap gold. I haven't weighed it yet but I think all of its 18 K except for the angel ring is probably 10 but I paid $80 for it all.

Nice! I've been looking for a sterling handled cane for ages (gonna need one pretty soon!) ;)
Very nice score!

Nice finds.

Presently I am in the market for a cane. For obvious reasons. I started walking again yesterday and on the way to the TS to find one.

Oh wow yes it does look like you will need one, that sucks, sorry, hope you get better soon!

I told my neighbor im going to keep it until I was old however I'm 35 so it will be a while. I'm kind of eager to polish it and see what it says on the handle. I had no idea they made these either however on pawn stars last week somebody brought in a 14 karat gold one. I would've threw up in the room if it was gold! [emoji13]

Let us know on the hallmarks, I'm curious. A lot of them are British.

Here are some pictures of the hallmarks I haven't had time to look them up.

Pictures did not come out too well. The hallmarks are so small I'm having a hard time getting a photo.

Maybe I have my Halloween costume now, the old cane with one of my good will Stetson hats! When my kids ask who I am I'll say I am grandpa! [emoji145]

Great finds!! I picked up a sterling and bone handle cane a couple of weeks ago for $5.00. Early 1900's.

I think the 3 crowns in the clover looking cartouche is an older silver mark for Sweden ?

Swedish hallmarks for sure.

Thanks for the help! It's going to sit for a while I believe unless I auction at this weekend. I'm kind of in the process of trying to buy out the whole state and it's way more than I can even manage but I need to try to figure it out because when I have bought out of it so far is worth a lot and there's a lot left. And no one in the family wants anything of it. Jewelry and coins included. So that's my main focus I was over there today for an hour because she had an appointment and I'm going to be over there all day tomorrow!! But thank you very much and I will update when I get forth

Awesome finds! Would you have to buy all of the stuff? Have your own sale? Good luck with that!

I hope not.. She had me check some boxes today that she didn't know what was in them two baskets like you put Christmas decorations and full of jewelry. There's 10 more just like it. I can fill my van probably twice or if not three times with the stuff she has just in jewelry. She has seven flatware sets that I haven't even looked at it I don't know if their silver or not. Three storage units, a six bedroom house loaded to the hilt with stuff. Her garage is full her patio is full of antiques. It's kind of overwhelming to me but I'm just trying to deal with the jewelry this week and then go from there. I wanted to buy it all at once but she has a lot of sentimental attachment to some of it so we're going to go through it piece by piece which is fine but it just takes forever... however I love it. I love hearing the stories as well, her husband has two purple hearts. Lots of military stuff I don't know if she would part with any of that or not but I'll find out as time goes. She's a wonderful lady I think she's just pretty heartbroken right now.
