Do you have a better picture? Is it marked in any way? Elaborate old cane handles can be quite collectible in their own right aside from the value of the gold (if that's what it is

It could be Plated, brittel around the bottom edge. It's heavy, wood inside, looks to be soldiered down the sides and around the top. Loco
