Found this item the other day on the edge of a camp we have been hunting for the past two months. I originally thought it was the top to a flagpole, someone else suggested it may be a candle snuffer. After hearing the second guess, I'm leaning towards it, this thing is pretty flimsy to hold up on a flagpole, then again, maybe thats why it was lost.

Any ideas??

Dagger Scabbord tip... Nice find!

You get the idea...

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies, unfortunately, I dont think that's it. I know its hard to see from the picture (should have taken one from the bottom) but this one it absolutely ROUND at the bottom with NO attachment holes near the bottom. The only hole is the rectangular one as seen in the picture.

This thing is also VERY thin and "flimsy", I don't think it would have held up to ANY wear as would be expected on a scabbord.

I'm gonna go with that one. The little hole in the side pretty much does it.
Seems like a pretty odd thing to have to carry around during the war. Assuming it was from the war, it was found right in the camp we have been hunting.

things end up in the weirdest places. Might be just post CW.
