Canal construction gives up another reale

I went back to old mesilla where I took NM dan and he found a 1856 Mexican copper 1/4 reale, I notice the more dirt was moved so i went after work and find myself a 1/4 reale also, i believe a 1848 [] 20171114_171236.jpg20171114_171641.jpg

Dang! Dude, those old copper Reales are awesome! Bet there aren't too many of those found up north! Congrats! :headbang:

Can you post a pic of the reverse of the 1/4 R?
That's where the mint mark will appear if legible; to the left of the bust of Liberty.
The engraver's initials, L R, will appear on the right of Liberty.

Road construction sights just rock. Nice old coin there for sure. Keep pounding that sight. Must be some more goodies rolling around in that dirt somewhere.:headbang:
