Canadian pennies

[Scrapple]

I often get canadian pennies among my change. What's their copper value?
Not being US currency is it legal to melt them out for the copper value, (if any)?

just watch out for Dudley Do Right and you should be ok.

I don't think the canuks are gonna send a posse into the states due to someone melting 8.34 of pennies for some reason.
