Here's three things. Does anyone have info on the first 2 and what's your opinion on the third?
This is a box i found hidden underneath a boulder in the woods. I don't think its too old. It says made in Japan on the back but the camera doesn't pick it up well.

The second is a broken figurine i found at what was a Union Civil War camp site, but was used after as well.

The third is a chunk of lead but i'm wandering if this was at one time a minnie ball. I put it next to 2 others i found in the area for comparison. What do you think.

The first item is most likely some sort of modern souvenir from Japan. It features a tori gate on the front which is a popular Japanese symbol.
The second item is an old toy. Could be civil war era but I would say it dates to around the turn of the century.
The last item is probably a piece of a fired minnie ball but there is no way to be certain.

Sure would've been nice if the little box you found was full of IH's & Mercs.
Probably given to a kid by their father who came back with it from WWII.

The "made in Japan" mark means either it was made between 1921-1941, or after 1952. Pre 1921 would generally say "Made In Nippon", from Dec 41 to late '45 we weren't importing Japanese goods, for obvious reasons... From '46 to '52 it would be marked "Occupied Japan"

I would guess your box is 1952 or newer but that's just me unexplainable feeling looking at it
