I went metal detecting on the farm at a spot I find alot if pottery like the blue and green laced kind. I found alot of these nails. The axe head and this weird piece of metal that was about 15 inches in the dirt. I think the pottery is around 1800??? Do the nails match that?? And any guesses on the odd piece of metal with a ridge? 20200428_160133.webp20200428_155223.webp20200428_144235.webp20200428_155126.webp20200428_155135.webp

If the nails... shank? ... not the head... are truly square they could be that old if they are rectangular in cross section then they are a bit newer.

I would say your odd piece of metal is part of a stove.

I would sat that the axe could be mid 1800 or a little earlier? It looks like iron or very low steel?

I kept searching and have found alot more nails and spikes and some more pottery. Not sure if it's where a house was or a camp. I found 2 more axe heads all within 60 yards of each other.20200505_095257.webp20200429_111101.webp
