Thanks, Kevin. The design looks dead-on. The one I found, however, is smaller than 2 1/4". I should have posted this picture as well:

Looks identical to me. The wings could even be brass, or maybe gold plate. Only the removable pins and the center piece seem to be sterling. Must be some good metal, because it came out of the ground looking pretty much like you see it.
