Harmonica reeds perhaps.

Center part of a harmonica. Looks like reeds palced to inhale and exhale? ;)

Yep opposite Side has them also.

Would the Harmonica been shaped like that.
Or is that how the insides are all Constructed ?

looks like the object has 16 reeds so it is probably the inards from a harmonica as sugested by others.

As far as I know harmonica reeds are of equal size on the ends. The reed that you found may not be for a harmonica.

I'm looking at tuning reeds and other instruments as well. Hoping.

By the way, you seem to have found an abundance of reeds. Did a reed factory blow up in the area?

Tony

I've also been looking at reed plates and I haven't found any harmonicas with inhale and exhale reeds on the same plate. Unless i've missed it.

But are they tapered?

In some cases. The length of the tongue of the reed determines the note.
Check out the site.
okay, so what does Jeff want to know...the brand or maker....or are you finished here?

Doc the ring you can forget he doesnt think he's going to clean it ...afraid it may be damaged more...which I understand...but darn...we,ve worked hard on that for a long time now...and now we can't id it with nothing to go on....this reed is probably part of a double reed harmonica....and I think it may be an early up to date model say 1940-or so....
