Can you ID this piece of Crockery

I was digging a test hole to see if there was anything old on this site.
My son walks up, looks down and finds this...sheesh. On top of the
ground no less. Any idea how old it is?

Next time he's diggin and I'm supervising!!!!!

It looks kind of like alkaline glaze used on pottery here in the South.Chineese also used this kind of glaze.This type of glaze is still in use today.
