The other buckle looks like this reproduction of a Spanish Conquistador.

clearly thier spanish items and very nice for most part --- are you trying to date range and use / item ID each of these items ? the items vary in age some are say 1500 /1600 era ( the round "conquistador" type buckle )-- while most of the bulk of other buckles look to be more like the 1700 / 1800 era range type design patterns..

those over here are highly prized "relics" as we do not have the long term "age" of history that you have --so those 300 - 400 year old common everyday items over there are rare old items here. :icon_thumright:

the really old stuff here is indain relics -pre columbus era and before. (thus non metal for the most part) ---we too seek silver and gold as well.

if you think of that as junk (pulltabs) let me know if you want to get rid of em * maybe we can work up a swap of items of some sorts.

I like to have samples on hand to help in IDing local finds by matching up type and design --and to show folks what they look like.

looking at the "tounge" in photo #2 -- it appears to be a type V # II on the 1660 /1720 era chart --that goes on a type #19 buckle set up .-- the first one in the first photo looks to be on the "conquistador" type buckle of the mid 1500 / 1600 era -- the other next to it seems to be a typeof #28 buckle design (or very similar)--1660 / 1720 era ish.

yep --one mans trash is another's treasure. ---common junk finds there are way cool finds here. --- :icon_thumright:

I'd love to be able to improve my research collection of items without it costing me a mint to do so. --you bet.

e-Bay is worldwide. It has become a small world.

What does that say around the lion?

the copper coin with the loin and shield is early 1800's time frame coin if I remember correctly lit like equal to a 5 cent piece.

It may be "junque" there, but it is tresure in most of the world and probably museum worthy unless it is a repro. You can send me all you want to throw away! :icon_thumright: Seriously! Monty
