I found a patch of rock that has maybe 100's of thousands of mostly small crystals still attached to the host rock. A lot of the rock is still solid bedrock, but there is also a lot of rocks that have broken off like the one in the picture.

Is there a type of saw I can use to cut away the bulk of the host rock and just be left with some cool slabs of this stuff?

Nice find. Personally I would leave it as is, or maybe just smack off that front part gently with a hammer.
