Can ya'll help to identify this old bracelet?

Hello everyone,

Anyone have an idea as to what this very heavy bracelet is made of?

It looks like it reads "666" or maybe "999", depending how you turn it,

and then some sort of acorn looking symbol's, then "37" stamped on the clasp (NOT 375)

It looks very well made, and has a very old looking design to it.

Thanks for any help ya'll .

* Updated with a 3rd picture, with the 26 Link Bracelet opened up.

*** Under a magnifying glass, it is clearly either "666", or "999", depending on flipping it or not.
The 1st set of numerals have a heavy rectangular box stamped around them, causing a
deep indention , and that is why some of you think the indention line helps to create the
333, instead of the 666 or 999. The numbers 666 or 999 are imbedded into the deep
outer box outlying the numerals, the scan angle into the box is probably creating the
333 effect, erroneously, because as I said, with a magnifying glass, it is clearly 666 or 999.

Thanks for all your help guys, I have been trying for many many hours now to identify
those two acorn symbols facing each other, to no avail. I have looked at the periodic table
as well, thinking maybe the 37 would relate to it somehow, nope.

I guess the next step is to bring it to a professional Jewelry shop & have them do tests
on it. At least then I would know for sure what the metal is, but still not the origin....

I'd guess it's 999 silver with a hallmark ( the acorns) and makers mark 37. It looks old and valuable to me. Very nice find! 2dgs

No luck as of yet. I have been searching all night to identify what the country of origin is, and what metal this is. I have found it could be 999 (pure 24k gold), 666 (16k gold), 999 silver ( I dont think so, though based on the lack of obvious plating) ....or who knows what else.

This is a heavy 26 chainlink bracelet, with a unique old clasp style.

OTHER EUROPEAN HALLMARKS

Many European countries mark silver and gold with numerical fineness marks in thousandths, e.g., 800, 830, 900, 935, etc. for silver, 333, 500, 585, 750, 875, etc. for gold. Other symbols may be used in combination with these numbers.

I'm not sure of the date on this cone-the style is really classic and timeless. It measures about 1 1/8" in diameter and features 3 blue enamel forget-me-nots. The gold intentionally shows through at the center of each flower. The piece is marked "14" and bears an acorn hallmark, which I believe indicates Eckfeldt & Ackley of Newark, NJ. The catch style makes me believe 1920's-1940's, but it could be later. The piece weighs 2.7 grams. This piece comes from the estate of a jeweler who closed his ...

ECKFELDT & ACKLEY, INC. *JEWELRY TRADEMARK FOR THIS MFG. IN NEWARK, NJ WAS THE "ACORN" SINCE 1898.

That's all I got.

Yup,
Try to look at it as a 333. Thats what I saw anyways. Does it look like Gold or silver to you? If it looks like gold 333 could be a low K Gold.....

BIOPROFESOR,CRUSADER & ALEMAN and others,

Looks like you guys were correct, I guess my old eyes are deceiving me..and I am only 39 yrs old !!! The Lady at the Jewerly store said it was "333" = 8k Gold from Germany.
Although it is only 8k and hollow links, still pretty darn heavy. So, one mystery solved.

Thanks Guys.

I'll take 8k gold over sterling silver anyday! Nice vintage bracelet. :)
