Can we Date a weight ???

below is the result of a short search of a ballast pile from 19th cent fishing boat

Looks like an old shotgun slug that was fired hit somthing found and made into a sinker. The largest musket balls I know of were .76 cal 3/4 of an inch in diameter thats about the same size as the penny. This was made from a larger piece of lead.
