Can this be part of a fluted point?

The good news is that you've got an eye for the right material and a lot of characteristics of worked pieces of stone. So it's only a matter of time until you find a nice point.

The bad news is that doesn't look like a fluted point to me. You might have a waste flake from knapping where someone whacked off a chunk of material to get down to a useable piece, or it could just be from rocks being banged together in the creek. You can get some great looking flutes on rocks if there is a natural ridge for the flake to follow.
 

Joshua nailed it , and like he said seems you have the hardest part figured out ... picking up the correct pieces I prob have a 5 gallon bucket filled with similar looking pieces / debitage and it surely does help to study each of them
