It's called a Horse Brass. They're used to decorate horses. Were particularly popular in the 19th century. They're quite collectable.

It looks like a horse harness medallion. And since it depicts two horses and riders, it may have been a prize for horse racing.

Horse brass is quite a bit larger than this one.
Certainly has the style though.
Wondering if they also made fob styled ones.

Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction…
Obviously it’s horse racing related, probably a fob.
So I dove deeper into this with some trial and error, and I found this picture….
It depicts an early Preakness race, I think in Harve de Grace MD. Building looks the same, dontchya think?
