Can someone read Chinese or Japanese?

I walked to work in the morning and I noticed that some of our offices were under renovation. Some old office furniture was thrown into the dumpster. I checked drawers and found this coin or token. I think it is Chinese but I can’t read markings. Can someone help in identifying?

I just found out that it is Japanese 5 yen coin.

It is from 1989.
