Can someone please help me identify this soldier. Civil war or Indian wars? I'm thinking he is confederate any thoughts? Thanks

Looks nothing like Daniel Craig! But...this pic is familiar for some reason. Just can't place it. (as usual lol)
Anyhow, i've looked at both sides officers uniforms and as the hat says "Navy" to me, i looked at both sides there too. Couldn't find a match but one thing stands out...ALL the uniforms i've seen have two rows of buttons! None have 3 rows like your boy.

Mine was only a casual search, and i'm a foriegner so wth do i know? But unless it's a dress uniform not posted on google images before...then i'm inclined to go with KoP and that type of fraternity palaver!

All the pictures i have found on Knights of Pythias have single row of buttons. It does have a naval look.
