Found this rock while walking out in the woods near my house. My kids have a slight obsession with rocks and had to bring it home!. It sat in my garden until one day after it rained, i noticed the vein in the rock and became very curious!.. it looks like something in the rock melted and pushed the liquid through it. The veins all start at the one spot. I am no expert in this area so, i have spent some time looking online but havent had to much luck. So im hoping someone on here could help me out.. i live in NH and the rock was found close to a small stream. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It resembles a porphyry on the more mafic (i.e. quartz-poor) side. The veining could be a granitoid filling up old cracks...Acts like a kind of glue!
