Yep. Roller die used to "engrave" the slide of Colt semi-automatic pistols.
From sometime after 1970 when the Mk IV was introduced. Series 80 was after, I think, 1982.

Thanks I found this in an old ammo crate in my garage and had no idea, as i'm not to familiar with guns.
