It has a sort of 'Quality, Tourist' about it. The bamboo frame is cool on its own.

I hope it's worth big, for you

I am in Japan, but this is definetly Chinese. There are certain characters only the Chinese use, and I see them on this painting.

Hope you find the artist!

Dang... I was hoping Jadish might see this and respond... if he can't read it - I don't know who here can.

At least he knows it's Chinese... that narrows the search!

chinese -- try typing chinese numbers into google * a chart will come up - I remember off hand the three lines across are the number 3 -- so most llikey its either a date / and artist name --or name and a production number (many asian artist crank out pictures in mass numbers and sell in bulk to middle men who market them for sell overseas )

I've been doing this for three days now... the "3" is the only obvious charactor... you're correct about that.

I even tried to use a interactive charactor program where I wrote the chractor out... it's still iffy.

I need to learn Chinese...

I think an actual chinese translation is appropriate...

ah I just need to learn chinese -- you make it sound so easy -- ;D chinese is tough -- it and arabic are a real pain -- I get silver arabic coins sometimes at coin shops in my area in the cull coin boxes since most american coin dealers know little about them and do not wish to invest the time to learn (theres a lot of copper nickle coins and some silver in the arabic world coins ) -- their loss is my gain.
