can anyone read german ,early 1900's beer stein

I was a about 30 years to late in finding the old black smith shop on my road . I have lived here my whole life and saw the location on a old 1860 map in faint letters it said B.S. SHOP . I decided to venture into the woods next to the road yesterday and to my suprize thousands of bottles from late 1800's to early 1900's everywhere ,some broke some intact and looks like a pile of them 10 foot high and 60 feet long covered by a little dirt more than likely it was a dump for awhile and along with the remains of the black smith shop .It was a shame, but I did find a beer stein sitting by its lonesome on the very top of the pile ,so curious if anyone can read german and tell me what this says on the front . I thought it was kind of cool ,never found one intact even though it is cracked .

Sichre Hand,
Die Augen offen,
Gut gezielt
Ist halb getroffen.

A sure hand,
A steady eye,
Good aim
Is half the battle.

(Or something like that... :D)

Well done PBK. Nice find Ifi, even with the chip! Are there maker marks on the bottom?

-I guess actually having a gun and ammunition is the other half of the battle? :icon_jokercolor:
