My husband and I joined another friend of ours in Eastern New Hampshire for some metal detecting, and I came across this item. Can anyone identify what it is? It might be copper but I can't tell for sure.

Oh, let me research that! And thank you for the welcome, I've lurked since I found this site. I've enjoyed seeing all the great finds, but unfortunately live in an area where we don't come across the "good stuff" on a daily basis.
