I'm posting this for Mike of Pa. Quarter for size comparison, material may be ceramic or pottery. Has 1 wire sticking out and some type of decorations around it. Anyone have any ideas what this could have been used for? Thanks for looking. MM2, Mike of Pa.

I would guess that it is the rim from some type of vase. The decorations make me think it has something to do with flower arrangements.

I've seen a piece like this years ago, and I can't place it. For some reason I want to think it is lamp or lamp shade ring related. Hopefully it will come to me. Breezie

That struck me as well, but the flat bottom with the six (?) evenly spaced wire holes look to be flared out. Still thinking on it.

I do wish I could remember where I have seen this piece, but I've changed from lamp shade to a piece of some type of Victorian or Shabby Chic floral wire coated ceramic basket. It looks like one of the decorated pieces looks like a strawberry. Breezie
