Looks more like the head of a railroad date nail.:dontknow:

Thank you Mud Hut! Looks like you're spot on! I'd never heard of a railroad date nail until now, so I just looked them up. Being as I'm less than 100 yards from a pretty old railroad, a 1922 rr datenail sure makes sense. Thank you so much!
